KCSE / Kick-off
KCSE Kick-off, Nov 25-26, Lovik, Lidingö
The Kick-off was held at the Lovik conference center in Lidingö,
with about 40 participants, half of which were PhD students. The kick-off
started with an invited talk by Prof. Risto Nieminen, HUT and was followed
by presentations of some key activities of KCSE departments. Several common
themes between departments were identified, such as multiscale phenomena,
and physics governed by the Schrödinger, Navier-Stokes and Maxwell equations.
There were also lively discussions about KCSE’s future activities, with emphasis
on common graduate/masters courses, seminar series and annual meetings and
proposals to SSF and KAW (Kallsup III).
Some additional material reporting from the kick-off can be
found here.
