Abstract <br>

On the 22nd of December 2006, the first Calls under the 7th Framework Programme for
Research (FP7) were opened by the European Commission. The programme has an
significantly increased budget compared to earlier programmes and some new features
and funding possibilities. The programme is divided in 4+2 parts (Cooperation,
Capacities, Ideas and People plus JRC and Euroatom) and covers a number of thematic
fields and concepts. The presentation will provide an overview about the whole FP7,
but will also try to give some details about relevant areas for KCSE.
