My current research
at KTH Mechanics, Stockholm, Sweden, is on transition to
turbulence in wall-bounded shear flows. I
am especially interested in the explanation
of transition in terms of dynamical systems. This requires the
numerical identification of the newtork of
exact coherent solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations, among them
steady states, travelling waves and relative
periodic orbits. I am working on
Poiseuille pipe flow and also plane Couette flow.
This link
shows an up-to-date dictionary of known exact states in pipe flow.
I am currently employed as a post-doc at the Linné
Flow Centre, in collaboration with
Dan Henningson,
Philipp
Schlatter, Luca Brandt
and
Carlo
Cossu.
This investigation is related to my former
post-doc at the School of Mathematics,
University of Bristol, UK, with Rich Kerswell, Ashley Willis
and Chris Pringle.
My former research at LMFA, Ecole Centrale de
Lyon, France, is about parametric
instabilities in rotating flows subject to periodic strain.
