Computational Aeroacoustics
A graduate course in Computational Aeroacoustics (CAA) is going to be held within
the graduate school of the Linné FLOW Centre.
The course will give 4 hp and includes lectures and a project work.
Responsible teachers are Gunilla Efraimsson (gef@kth.se), Ciarán O'Reilly and Axel Kierkegaard.
The scope of the course is to give an introduction to basic aeroacoustics, different methods and simulation techniques used within CAA.
Your background as participant can be either fluid mechanics or acoustics, experimental or numerical.
The course material will consist of journal papers.
The schedule is as follows (rooms will be scheduled later):
29 March 13-15 Compressible/Incompressible flows, Time/frequency domain
31 March 13-15 Discretization of PDEs, errors
12 April 13-15 Fundamental aeroacoustics, Acoustic analogies
14 April 13-15 Acoustic analogies
19 April 13-15 Linearised Navier-Stokes/Euler equations
21 April 13-15 Hybrid methods
26 April 13-15 Higher order accurate methods
28 April 13-15 Guest lecture
Project work to be performed in May.
The examination will be in form of a written report of the project work.
Please send an email to Gunilla (gef@kth.se) if you plan to attend this course or
have any questions.
