Large-eddy simulation (LES) of turbulent channel flow is performed with the recently developed Explicit Algebraic sub-grid scale model (EASSM) and the Dynamic Smagorinsky model (DSM). The LES with EASSM achieved a good prediction of turbulent wall-bounded flows using coarse resolutions and involving moderately high Reynolds numbers. LES with DSM fails at coarser resolutions.
