AbstractThe stability of wave disturbances in a Blasius boundary layer are studied experimentally. Under well controlled conditions the waves are only slightly modified compared to parallel flow theory. This is in contrast to previous experiments. Inappropriate leading edge conditions may have affected earlier studies, as these conditions have a strong influence on the stability characteristics of Tollmien-Schlichting waves.
