Abstract

The upward turbulent gas-particle flow in a channel was studied using an Eulerian-Eulerian two-phase model taking into account the feedback from the particles on the gas-phase. The objective is to study the influence of particles with different diameters and volume fractions on the flow and particularly on the accumulation of particles in the near wall region due to the turbophoretic effect. The results were obtained with a two-phase flow model that is presented. The accumulation of particles in the near-wall region was found to be strongest for particles with ?p+ = 13. The model also shows that varying the particle diameters leads to different feedback of the particles on the turbulent flow.
