Project
Person-specific biomechanic: Musculoskeletal models, muscle function and optimal movement
Project DescriptionMany research groups, including our own, use musculoskeletal models to analyze or predict motion in persons with motion disorders. During the course of such projects, we have repeatedly stumbled upon one major obstacle which severely limits the methods' accuracy and applicability - today's generic scaled models, which are based on the anatomy of notmal, healthy frequently male adults, and are thus of questionable value in the populations frequently of interest: children and adults with motion disorders. The focus of this project is on patient-specific models, in order to achieve relevant and useful results.
