New measurement techniques of complex attractors of mechanical systems
ProjektbeskrivningThe objective of this work is to develop devices for the measurement of the dimension of attractors of mechanical systems. This is intended as an analytical tool for determining the causes of seemingly random behaviour in actual mechanical systems such as vehicles. The main idea is to develop definitions of dimension that connect with the measurement process and retain a close relation to more classical dimension concepts like correlation dimension.
