Research and Professional ActivitiesMy primary research interests are in the area of aerospace propulsion, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, shock waves, and combustion. I am particularly interested in high-speed propulsion systems and advanced combustion technologies that can propel aircraft to supersonic (Ma > 1) and hypersonic speeds (Ma > 5). Just imagining how exciting it would be if we can fly to any places on this planet within 2 hours! My long-term research goal is to use theoretical, computational, and experimental methods to study gas turbines, ramjets, scramjets, detonation engines, rockets, and re-entry vehicles, to contribute to the incoming high-speed transportation era.
