III:1 Twin wire forming
|
|
The fundamental aspects of dewatering between two wires is to a great extent known, but presently not accurately
quantified for dewatering over suction rolls and blades. Detailed knowledge of the involved mechanisms, e.g. wave
propagation on free wires, facilitates control of dewatering and straining of the fibre suspension, which in turn can be
used for control of flock distribution and fibre orientation. The latter factors determine the quality of the paper. The
project is extended, through funding by Dept. of Paper Technology at KTH, with experimental studies of pressure pulses
over a dewatering blade. The influence of the pressure pulse on fibre flocs will be investigated.
