III:4 Fibre suspensions in contractions

|
In the contraction of a head box the fibres of the suspension will orient
according to the strain field. The degree of orientation depends on e.g. the
strength of the strain and its spacial distribution, appearence of turbulence
and its properties and the size, concentration and bending stiffness of the fibres.
Knowledge of these properties influence on the orientation of the fibres
facilitate controll of product quality.
