Jens H. M. Fransson

Docent in Fluid Physics, KTH

Member of the Linné Flow Centre management group, secretary of the Linné Flow Centre board, and responsible for the Stability and Transition research area.

I live in Vaxholm, 30 km north-east of Stockholm centre, with my wife Annika and my son Samuel. In my spare time I enjoy skiing, playing tennis, long-distance running, and playing football with Samuel.

I have been at KTH since 1993. In -94 I started in the programme of Engineering Physics (sv. Teknisk Fysik) and graduated -99. Shortly after I started my PhD work on Flow Control of Boundary Layers and Wakes with Prof. Henrik Alfredsson as my advisor. During my PhD I spent six month at IMFT in Toulouse where I also was supervised by Prof. Alessandro Bottaro. I finished my PhD in 2003 and in -04 I was employed as Research Associate (sv. Forskarassistent) at the Department of Mechanics. Since then I have worked with a number of collaborators, as e.g. Prof. Yoshiyuki Tsuji, Prof. Arne Johansson, Prof. Alessandro Talamelli, Dr. Luca Brandt, Prof. Carlo Cossu, and Prof. Mats Sandberg. In 2006 I became Docent in Fluid Physics.
