Immersed boundary method implementation

This image shows the immersed boundary implementation near the sphere. The immersed boundary points are used to enforce the no slip boundary condition at the sphere surface (intersection points). A ray is drawn normal from the sphere boundary and the value at the immersed boundary point is calculated using the known value at the intersection point and the value of velocity at the projection point. The value at the projection point can be determined either by a Taylor series expansion or trilinear interpolation.
