I:1 Mass transport in turbulent bubbly cells

Mass transfer in liquid, electrolytic cells is to a large extent due to free convection, resulting in an inhomogeneous concentration field. This means that the current density distribution on the electrodes becomes non-uniform, which is an undesired feature. This project investigates the influence on the current density distribution by cell voltage, cell geometry and the average concentration of the electrolyte. Also forced convection will be investigated. The results can be used to minimize the non-uniformity of the current density.
